About the Author
Michael Anderson brings his storytelling prowess from lecture halls to the page with his debut adult fiction novel, Jubilee: The Day Everyone Was Free. A former military officer, educator, and journalist, Anderson draws from his diverse experiences to tackle themes of inequality, national debt, and political polarization in an action-packed narrative with a surprise ending.
When not writing, Michael enjoys hiking, traveling, and spending time with his grandchildren. He splits his time between Eastern Washington and Utah, drawing inspiration from both serene rural settings and the dynamic landscapes of Utah’s deserts and canyons.
From West Berlin, where he served as an Intelligence Officer, to the DMZ in Korea, to China’s Tiananmen Square, to Robben Island in South Africa and many places in between, Mike has studied, observed, and written about the history of humankind. His insights into the world at present and the history that has shaped our current condition, give him an appreciation for what has gone before and a view to what lies ahead. His grasp of how the economy works allows him to deal with the “what if” questions addressed in Jubilee. Despite the challenges of our times he remains hopeful that things will work out.
